About Me

Hi! My name is Heather. I'm the owner of Illuminated Arts. Photography has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I received my first camera at a young age and fell in love instantly.

As a child, I remember my grandmother always having a camera in her hand eager to capture the latest memories with her grandchildren.  Back then, there were no digital cameras. If you wanted to take a picture you had to use film. Then Polaroid became popular. I'll never forget my grandmothers excitement and that distinct sound as the film was ejected from the camera.

After high school, I attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and graduated with an Associates Degree in photography.  By the time I graduated, digital photography was introduced and began gaining popularity quickly. While film has always been my favorite medium, I quickly learned where the industry was heading and decided it was time to transition to digital.  I bought my first digital camera and taught myself how to manipulate the images just as I had done with film.

Over the years, I have provided photography services exclusively to family and friends. Now, I offer my services to you!

I love to be creative. I enjoy making my own props, working on DIY projects, and making custom crafts.
